In today's society, the workplace can be the one place marginalized people feel safe, or it can be the one place that breaks them. As a result, profits drop, and employees currently left, drown in a toxic, non-inclusive work environment.
This course is designed to give employees and leadership teams the tools and skills they need to learn how to show empathy and ensure inclusivity to those with different lived experiences.
I designed this scenario-based eLearning course in Articulate Storyline to simulate real conversations with co-workers in which the learner will need to select inclusive and empathetic interactions.

Storyboarding
Because I wanted the learning experience to be relevant to my learners and because I wanted to ensure that it focused on the skills the learners needed to acquire, I first created the scenario activity storyboard in Word before writing the content and scripts for the explainer videos in another storyboard. In the scenario activity storyboard, I wrote the script for all choice outcomes, potential feedback for each decision point, and the dialogue for the "Ask Josie" function.
Once I completed the scenario activity storyboard, I then created another outline in Word mapping out the rest of the course.
After creating the scenario storyboard, I transitioned into storyboarding the rest of the course. Due to the number of transitions that would be used in the explainers, instead of building wireframes through Figma or another tool, I wrote a written explanation that detailed the transition videos/images because I thought it would be more thorough. I wrote and edited the scripts for all of the explainer videos using what I learned from personal research and conversations with a store manager I used as my SME, making sure to only include the most important information for learners to know.
Given the length and complexity of the course and multiple scenario activities, I developed the course in Articulate Storyline. I sourced images and videos using the stock footage in the Adobe Stock library for the explainer videos, used Adobe Premiere Pro to create and edit all explainer videos, and used Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint to create all graphics, avatars, and backgrounds used in the scenario activities and videos.
